Letter to my Fragile Friend

Caro Fabrizio,


Come va? Me manchi sempre...Portroppo, so che sei con me, nel mio cuore, nella mia anima...Gia vedi, che gli momenti piu belli sono quelli di mattina, quando sto andando al lavoro, fumando, ascoltando la tua musica...Non e importante si c'e la pioggia, neve ou sole...Me fai sorridere. Me fai piu forte, amico fragile...Ti ringrazio.
Ti contaro una storia. Lo sai gia, e "una storia diversa per gente normale, e una storia comune per gente speciale"... La contaro in inglese, per fare piu gente capire la tua grandezza, e anche perche, come dice Adriano Celentano, "la situazione [del mio italiano] non e buona..." :) Credo che capirai che e dedicata a te questa storia....





There was a boy, who became a man. A man, who became a magician. No, he didn't study in Hogwarts, so I am not speaking of Harry Potter...It isn't Merlin, Einstein, Che Guevarra or Elvis either.

This man is almighty...He opens his mouth, and you feel his heart flow into yours. With a touch of his hand, he can make you cry over the fallen heroes of the Fatherland, then he changes the position of his fingers - and your tears from salty change to sweet. A few more words, and you start to laugh so hard, admiring the impeccably created union of Irony and Humor.



And, what more, he has found a way to become immortal. As long as this world stands, and 8 more days he is going to live, speak, sing...A man who continues his incredible work that few are capable of nowadays - making people feel, act, love, think.

I am not so good with words as he is, so I will never be able to express correctly my feelings of admiration and gratitude. I can just say that I am not the only one in whose heart this name is carved with fire - Fabrizio De Andre.
